Moradabad (Desk) :
In a shocking case of corruption and collusion, land mafias—allegedly in partnership with government officials and employees—have constructed a three-storey building on government Nazul (state-owned) land worth crores of rupees.
The incident took place in Moradabad’s posh Civil Lines area, where a total of 17,318 square meters of government land was illegally grabbed. Authorities not only turned a blind eye but also allegedly approved the building plan. The scandal came to light when a complaint was filed on the IGRS (Integrated Grievance Redressal System) and reached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Following the complaint, construction work was halted immediately, and District Magistrate Anuj Singh ordered an official inquiry into the matter.
Sources claim that a well-known city doctor, who has become a billionaire in a short span, is the mastermind behind this illegal operation. His influence is evident—his previously sealed hospital was reopened just a day after the Moradabad Development Authority (MDA) sealed it. On the same Nazul land, a massive multi-storey hospital has now been constructed.
According to records, only 2,714 square meters of the land is freehold, while the remaining 17,318 square meters is government-owned. Despite this, the MDA engineers allegedly approved the map without objection. Rules clearly state that only residential construction is allowed on freehold land, yet a full-scale hospital has been built.
The most shocking part is that this illegal structure is located in the same Civil Lines area where top MDA and district officials reside, yet no one intervened. This raises serious questions about official complicity and the possible exchange of money behind the scenes.
Now, under orders from the District Magistrate, an investigation into this multi-crore government land scam has begun. The key question remains—will the land mafia and their collaborating officials face punishment, or will the case be quietly buried under bureaucratic pressure?
