Conversion racket exposed in Bareilly, people used to convert poor people by luring them with marriage, 4 arrested

Bareilly News: The game of conversion has been exposed in Bareilly, UP, four accused have been arrested in this case. Information has been received about the transaction of donations worth lakhs of rupees in their 21 bank accounts.

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the police has exposed a big game of conversion. Four accused have been arrested in this case. The police has also received information about the transaction of donations worth lakhs of rupees in 21 bank accounts of the accused. Initial investigation has found evidence of their network being spread across the country.

A big game of Muslim conversion was going on in Bareilly’s Bhuta area. Police say that the accused used to entice poor and helpless people to convert by luring them with money and promising them marriage. 

Four accused of conversion arrested

The police have arrested four accused in this case, Abdul Majeed, Salman, Arif and Faheem. The police have found donations of about 13 lakh rupees through 22 accounts from them. It is being told that the accused were connected to a network spread across many states of India and from there also they used to get financial help for conversion.

Giving information about this, SP Rural South Anshika Verma said that a woman named Akhilesh had lodged a complaint in Bhuta police station that her son was being converted. Investigation revealed that along with Hamid and Brijpal, a minor was also trapped for conversion. 

After this, the police laid a trap and arrested three accused. This gang was active in this area for a long time. Their target were poor and weaker sections, whom they used to convert by luring them with money and marriage. 

Police engaged in further action

Bareilly police has heaved a sigh of relief by exposing this entire network. However, the police believes that the accused were active for a long time and used to target only those people who were already struggling with poverty or helplessness. 

The police is questioning the accused to find out if there are any other people involved with them. Apart from this, people living nearby are also being questioned. All four accused have been sent to jail. Further legal action is being taken.
