Strongmen Accused of Encroaching on Public Pathway, Neighbor Allegedly Threatened with Death for Opposing Illegal Gate

Moradabad (Desk): A case of alleged assault on a couple has come to light after they objected to the installation of an illegal gate on a government pathway in the Majhola police station area of Moradabad.According to a complaint submitted by Laxmi Rastogi to the District Magistrate (DM) and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), her neighbors Dhanpal Singh, Bhajan Singh, Ranjeet, and others allegedly erected two illegal gates on a government access road, blocking the public passage.The complaint states that when Laxmi Rastogi and her husband, Ramkishore Rastogi, protested against the alleged encroachment, the accused verbally abused them. It is further alleged that on the evening of July 14, 2026, the accused forcibly entered their house and physically assaulted the couple by punching and kicking them.The complainant also alleged that the accused threatened to kill them if they raised the issue of removing the illegal gates again.Laxmi Rastogi has urged the district administration to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, take strict legal action against the accused, and remove the alleged illegal encroachment from the government pathway.
