Moradabad (Desk):
Serious allegations have once again surfaced in Moradabad district regarding the operation of quack doctors and illegal hospitals. Allegedly, a person named Laxman Singh, said to be associated with a network of quack doctors, is accused of plotting to blackmail and exert pressure on senior officials of the Health Department.
According to sources, the individual claims to have the backing of influential political leaders and, on this basis, is attempting to create an atmosphere by leveling baseless allegations against health officials, including the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Additional Chief Medical Officer (ACMO). It is reported that the matters being raised have already been investigated at the departmental level and necessary action has been taken.
Alleged Kingpin of Quack Doctors’ Network
Sources connected with the Health Department claim that Laxman Singh is considered the alleged kingpin of a large network of quack doctors operating in Moradabad district. It is alleged that, under political patronage, illegal hospitals and unqualified medical practitioners are being operated in several areas of the district through him.
Hospital Sealed After Woman’s Death
Sources further reveal that in 2024, following the death of a woman, the Health Department sealed a hospital allegedly linked to the said individual. It is also alleged that the hospital later resumed operations after changing its name and exerting political pressure.
Allegations of Taking “Contracts” for Illegal Hospitals
There are also allegations that the individual allegedly takes “contracts” from quack doctors to run their illegal hospitals. Whenever action is taken by the Health Department, a strategy is allegedly adopted to pressure or defame officials.
Health Department on Alert
A senior Health Department official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated that the department is continuously taking action against illegal hospitals and quack doctors. Despite any pressure or political interference, action will continue strictly in accordance with rules.
At present, the administration is closely monitoring the situation, and if the allegations are confirmed, strict legal action may be taken against the concerned individuals.
