The intention behind this was also to make identification of government vehicles easy. After the end of BF series in Rampur in April, BH series should have been opened for private vehicles, but the department opened the ‘BG’ series of government vehicles for private vehicles as well.

The situation was such that numbers were allotted to two wheelers as well. A complaint was made to the Deputy Transport Commissioner of Bareilly region. From where the matter reached the Transport Commissioner. The allegations were proved correct in the investigation of the case. 9,469 private registrations of BG series have also been registered. In the investigation it was found that the final approval of all the files was done from the user ID of ARTO Rampur Rajesh. No written order has been received for this. Also, DBA has also misused its credentials.

Transport Commissioner B.N. Singh said that UP22BG series has been suspended and frozen with immediate effect after the irregularities were found to be true. Along with this, information has also been sent to the vehicle portal in this regard. A proposal has been sent to the government for departmental action of suspension and major penalty against Rampur ARTO. Here another officer will be given charge. Apart from this, DBA has also been relieved of responsibilities immediately. There will also be a forensic investigation. At the same time, orders have been given for suspension and major penalty action against the dealing clerks of this series.


New numbers will be given: Transport Commissioner BN Singh said that the Home Department, Police and Intelligence have also been told to investigate seriously. Vehicles with BG series numbers issued from Rampur should not be left considering them to be government numbers. The Highway Authority has also been informed. All the numbers given to vehicle owners in the BG series have been cancelled. Now within 60 days, they will be given numbers of the new series. The effort will be to give the last four digits already given to the vehicle owners. No additional fee will be charged for this.
