Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has increased the fare marginally from today. As per the new rates, the fare has increased from Rs 1 to Rs 4 depending on the distance travelled, while on the Airport Express Line, this increase will be a maximum of Rs 5.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has increased the fare marginally for passengers. DMRC informed in an ex-post that the new rates have come into ex-post that the new rates have come into effect from 25 August 2025 (Monday).
Under the new rules, the fare has been increased from one rupee to four rupees. At the same time, this increase will be up to a maximum of five rupees on the Airport Express Line. DMRC says that this revision has been decided on the basis of distance and it has been implemented as a “minimal increase”. The new fare slabs have now been implemented on all routes and passengers will travel at these rates.
Fares are based on distance
According to the new fare, the fare for a journey of 0-2 km on normal days has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. The fare for 2-5 km has been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 21. The fare for a distance of 5-12 km has been increased from Rs 30 to Rs 32 and for 12-21 km, the fare has been increased from Rs 40 to Rs 43.
Delhi Metro further informed in an ex-post that the fare for a journey of 21-32 km has been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 54 and for a distance of more than 32 km, the fare has been increased from Rs 60 to Rs 64.
Fares also increased on National Holidays and Sundays
The revised rates will also be applicable on national holidays and Sundays, with fares ranging from 0-2 km for Rs 11, 2-5 km for Rs 11, 5-12 km for Rs 21, 12-21 km for Rs 32, 21-32 km for Rs 43 and more than 32 km for Rs 54. Similar revisions have been made on the Airport Express Line, where fares have been increased by Rs 1 to Rs 5.
